The more ability to sin, the more ability for greatness

After after watching Guns Germs and Steal

The first discoveries were random/accidental. The more discoveries that a society has stumbled upon, the more ideas that can spawn from them.

We currently live in a time of almost complete discovery. We can, and do, spawn many ideas from these bases. Combinations and extensions of old discoveries seems nowhere near complete (with biological engines barely being tinkered with). We currently also have more time to contemplate these topics - People didn't start creating complex items, such as pots and nets, until there was a food surplus which gives way to 'downtown' (not having to go gather food one day). In the past this experimenting and creating was done to fill up time; in this day and age, experimenting and creating is all many employees know - it is many of our jobs.

We live in a time of easy gluttony; our basic needs are completely cared for. Although a 'sin', this ultimately leads to pure downtime for our society. What began for humanity as discoveries during free time has been realized in modern society as the path to our greatness.
